Josh Jackson’s Fishing Diary - Common Carp Fishing at Carthagena Fishery, Broxbourne (Hertfordshire, East Anglia)

Captor’s Comments:

After an arranged social down Carthagena I decided to double up with a mate on the jettys, after finding a harder silter spot in the pads i decided to flick a Hinged stiff linked pop-up out with around 20 re-hydrated baits to the chosen area. When the social was interupted by a screaming delkim after a bit of heart stopping problems with the fish getting in the pads the fish was soon being weighed and photographed, 20lb 2oz, A 20lb common and a social alls good!

The fish came from a firm silty spot in a gap in the pads at around 25yards on a helicopter rig with a 2.5oz dumpy square lead with a 6inch hinged stiff rig size 6 esp stiff rig with a 16mm Take corkball.
