Jamie Walker’s Fishing Diary - Mirror Carp Fishing at Bentley Fishery, Brentwood (East Anglia)

Had this 21lb Old mirror at Bentley fishery in Essex. The swim I was fishing was called The Boat swim, named because a bait boat is needed to get tight to the treessnags. So not having a boat, it was hard getting near the trees. But I clipped up and got the cast as tight as I could to the snags. After a long wait I ended up catching this old mirror, who had been showing all day around the lake. Carp had a huge scar on his other side going across his whole side, could tell he had been a resident in the lake for many many years. Caught him out using size 8 wide gape B tied with coated N-Trap 18lb. Using a cell dumbell topped with pop up corn, also slid on a pva stick to help prevent tangles. Well chuffed.
