Hemp seed. Bait was a cork-ball smothered in Kryston Bogey and then covered in hundreds of tiny hemp seeds to produce a buoyant hemp-ball.

Captor’s Comments:

One of many big carp caught from Goldmire Lake in South Africa. Not one of my biggest from the venue, but it is a beautiful fish and caught on my first winter night at the lake many years ago.

The bait was postioned with help of a canoe paddled out acros ther lake at night, and lowerd beneath an overhanging tree branch close to margins at long range. Rig was a short 3-inch bolt rig on short hair fished straight off a 4-oz lead.
